Mirae Changjo (Future Creating) Research Institute

Mirae Changjo Research Institute is a research lab that was founded to do a number of studies in the natural sciences, humanities, social studies and applied studies in a mutually cooperative manner so that it can contribute to the development of future studies that are called upon in the 21st knowledge-based society. The institute is integrated and representative of Seowon University since all of its professors participate in research. The main tasks are to support research activities, to host research seminars, to publish and distribute journals, to host academic seminars and training sessions, to exchange with national and international academic organizations, to support profitable activities of having research service orders, and to support interdisciplinary studies.

Jikji Culture Industry Research Institute

Jikji Culture Industry Research Institute is a research laboratory that aims to contribute to development of local culture by doing research on and promoting Jikji, the representative cultural heritage of Cheongju. The institute also aims to globalize the Jikji using a wide range of cultural projects. Further, it strives to preserve the original values of Jikji per se and even create its values added so that it helps transform the local city into a cultural hub city using the Jikji.

Unification Research Center

The Unification Research Center provides education programs for citizens including members of civic or social organizations and those from five provinces in North Korea. The center aims to contribute to forming the basis for unification based on independence, peace and unity of the people between South and North Korea by conducting relevant research projects.

Education Research Institute

The Education Research Institute of Seowon University is the affiliated research division of the teacher’s college and was founded for the purpose of improving all kinds of problems including the nation’s social education and schooling education. Especially, to suit the characteristics of the university, the institute aims to study, investigate and apply its appropriate theories and practical knowledge. The main objectives of the activities are to study systematically the general education, subject teaching, teacher upbringing and teacher training, to develop relevant programs and to review all of the operational issues on the curricula in each subject area.

Korea Education Data Research Center

The Korean Education Research Institute, a Museum of Korean Education’s subsidiary institute, strives to compile, organize and distribute data stored in the Museum of Korean Education so that the data can be used in different settings like relevant academia and real classrooms. Also, the institute aims to contribute to establishment of Korean education’s identity by encouraging comparative studies on national and international research.
